I'm Dr. Alison Parker, an educator, literacy expert, and founder of Purposeful Learning Academy.
My work centers on helping families understand the reading process and the skills children need to become more capable readers.
Through the Syllable Division Queen™ brand, I have developed phonics practice resources, children's books, phonemic awareness activities, and parent-focused learning materials designed to make foundational literacy concepts more accessible.
I created this ecosystem because parents deserve more than the message, "Just read with your child."
They deserve to know what to listen for, what to practice, and when to seek additional support.
My mission is to help parents move from uncertainty to informed action.
I believe mothers can help close the reading achievement gap when they have the knowledge, tools, and support to participate meaningfully in their children's literacy development.
Yes. The program helps mothers build their understanding of foundational reading skills. You do not need to be a professional educator, but you should be willing to learn and participate.
Resources help, but how and when you use them matters, too. Coaching focuses on helping you think more strategically about implementation.
Children with dyslexia may need explicit, systematic, specialized reading instruction. Parent coaching can help you understand reading concepts and advocate for appropriate support, but it does not replace individualized intervention or professional evaluation.
No ethical reading professional can guarantee a particular outcome. Progress depends on many factors, including the child's needs, the instruction provided, consistency, and access to appropriate services. The program focuses on equipping you with knowledge and support to make more informed decisions.
That depends on your needs, budget, and how much you value expert guidance and structured implementation support. Review the program inclusions and terms carefully so you can make an informed decision.
